Beaches

To spend a pleasant day at the sea, you are spolit between the pebble beach in front of the hotel reached via the building by a stone stairway and the long wide sandy beach only 500m away accessed by foot or by public transport (bus stop in front of hotel).

The hotel also has an arrangement with a seaside beach called Peter Pan where our guests can take advantage of a discount on sunbed hire, umbrellas, cabins, canoes and pedaloes. Not to be missed are: the Faraglioni sea needles of Scopello with its ancient tuna fishery, the splendid bay of Guidaloca and the breathtaking coves found inside the Zingaro Nature Reserve.

From May to September you can take a daily minicruise aboard the Motonave Leonardo Da Vinci, which will help you discover the most beautiful features of the coast. By contacting the hotel reception it is possible to have a discount on the cost of the ticket.

Diving

For those who like exploring underwater, various diving centres based in the area offer the possibilty to hire diving equipment or go on guided trips such as visiting Capua`s wreck and numerous underwater caves.

Wildlife and nature

Nature lovers can visit Monte Inici with its famous caves full of stalactites or discover the marvel of the Zingaro Nature Reserve: small paths marked on the cliffs that lead down to the sea or that ascend up the mountain, allow you to pass through the most unspoilt environment in the Mediterranean. In the Ponte Bagni area you can find the renowned thermal springs of Segesta, which take its name from the nearby ancient city , where the hyperthermal sulphuric salt water (flows in fact at a temp. of 46/47) has been used for centuries for its extraordinary therapeutic properties.

Art and Culture

For those who wish to discover the different aspects of ancient civilisation, it is possible to visit the Annalisa Buccellato ethnic-antropological museum inside the arab norman castle.

Scopello: A seventeenth century sicilian farmhouse surrounded by a few houses, a paved piazza, a stone drinking trough. High above, the Bennistra Tower (XVI century) stands proud over the green valley.

Greek theatre in Segesta – Built by the Greeks to express their tragedies, the theatre is still used today, thanks to its great acoustics. The theatre opens out onto a magnificent view of Mount Inici; to the right you can see as far as Castellammare del Golfo. During July and August it is possible to attend classical performances during the Calatafimi Segesta Festival

Segesta Temple: Constructed in 430BC, the temple is an elegant ancient building. It stands on a hill surrounded by a deep valley framed by Monte Bernardo and Monte Barbaro. Thanks to its workmanship and excellent state of repair, it is considered one of the most beautiful ancient temples.
